Twenty Minutes Oughta Do

I always wanted to be pregnant;
Well, not always, that’s not true,
But for a good while now, just to see what it’s like.
Now, don’t get me wrong.
I wouldn’t want to make a habit out of it.
Twenty minutes oughta do.

You know, now that I think about it,
I remember what Dad used to tell me.
“Women are tougher than men.”
On that, I’ll take his word,
‘Cause women sure do have to be tough to do all the things they do.

And about being pregnant, I know it’ll cause quite a stir,
And, I know I will look awfully funny—
Still, I’d like to go through with it,
Just for a little while,
Just to see what it’s like.

Nine months along,
Yeah, I’ll go with that.
That way I’ll know the full effect.
No morning sickness though,
And I’ll definitely be skipping the delivery part of things—
Can’t even begin to imagine what that would mean!

You know though, the more I do think about it,
Maybe being pregnant for a longer length of time
Would be an even better idea.
That way,
I could really get to know what it was like.

Yeah,
But on second thought,
I don’t think so.
Nah, I don’t think so—
Not when twenty minutes oughta do.
